Procedure for checking into Taichung Christian Herald Children's Home
01 | City or county government's Departments of Social Affairs will inform our Social Worker Department. The client's transferring form and related file will also be attached.
02 | Social Worker Department and Child Care Department will hold a meeting to evaluate if we accept client.
03 | Once we approve the application, the following documents need to be presented: health check-up (we provide the service), application form and family registration book, school transferring form, health record booklet and two photos.
04 | Social workers should accompany the client to make sure the client has all the necessary documents for checking in. Social workers should keep the client's situation updated at all time.
Social Worker Department will regularly keep the city or county government's Department of Social Affairs updated regarding our Home's available seats and the age range of our children here to enable efficient and smooth operation in locating a suitable place for clients who need help.
Visiting procedure for groups
01 | Please call or send us a mail to make an appointment with the
following information: the time, the date and the purpose of visit,
the number of people in the group along with relevant information
of your group.
02 | A proposal will be drafted and presented for approval.
03 | If the proposal is approved, all departments will be informed
to prepare for the visit as we all have our share of work during
normal hours. As a result,
04 | A report will be made at the end of the visit.
We take care of children who suffer from
the following situations:
01 | Abandoned babies or children as well as lost children.
02 | Children who lose both of their parents.
03 | Single parents who are not capable of raising their children.
04 | Families who are listed as low-income and can't afford
to provide good care.
05 | Parents who neglect their children or fail to provide basic
need in a normal family life:
1) Children who suffer from domestic violence and abuse.
2) Parents are convicted and sentenced to jail.
3) Families who undergo dramatic changes:
Parents who suffer chronic mental illnesses.
Parents who are mentally and physically disabled
and are not capable of working.
Parents who suffer major diseases and need to be hospitalized for a long period of time.
Parents who can't be located.
1. In situation d), city and county governments along with police units will try to locate parents' whereabouts. However, if the results prove to be fruitless, yet it proves to be essential for clients to be checked in the institutions to have proper care, we will evaluate the situations to see if we can provide the best care.
2. We're sorry that we can't accept clients who suffer the following medical situations:
Officially approved contagious diseases.
Clients who require long-term treatment or care.
Moderate, severe or extremely severe mentally or physically disabled clients.
Clients who suffer sexually transmitted diseases.

Checking Out Procedure

Checking Out Situations:
01 | Biological parents apply to city or county governments to reunite with the clients.
City or county government's Departments of Social Affairs will inform our social worker department when and why the client will check out by phone first. Then, an official letter
should be dispatched.
The Social Worker Department will report to the head master, who then will sign the paper.
The Social Worker Department will inform the client's core teacher. Counseling might be
necessary to prepare the client before reuniting with their family.
The client's parents or relatives have to accompany social workers from the government to have the process done.
We will conduct a follow-up on clients' situation.
02 | Clients reach 18 years old and want to check out on their own will. After our social workers approve. Clients then fill out the application forms.
Our social workers will report to our city or county governments.
Counseling will be conducted by social workers and teachers.
The application is officially approved.
Preparing clients for possible problematic situations after checking out.
We will conduct a follow-up of clients.
